Dinner en Blanc YAY OR NAY (Washington, DC)

Are you a member of Dinner en Blanc or were you sponsored for this year’s event? For those of you that are not familiar with Dinner en Blanc It’s a worldwide event, spanning six continents, in which people gather in a public space and set up a temporary, chic dining area. Guests come dressed in “All” white to enjoy quality food and wine.

If you attended this year’s setup at the Nationals Stadium, what were your thoughts on the hosted location? Ha-ha.. I bet you want to know my perspective, right? I was quite disappointed along with many others about the monies spent, location, coordination, and view. For more details read the article by WTOP https://wtop.com/life-style/2018/08/fifth-dc-diner-en-blanc-takes-over-nats-park/slide/1/.  I’ve been a member for the past two years and I must say those past years were an absolute great time. Meaning the location, setup, was gorgeous apart from the commute involved in 2016. Can you just image what you had to carry this year and having to take that all through the metro, up escalators, elevators and go through the turnstile? UGH!! It’s lots of work. I chose to blog about this because of how much I enjoy seeing every attendee’s creativity displayed on their table.

One part of Dinner en Blanc is to display a well-designed table with table settings, linens, glassware, candles, and lighting. There’s also those who go as far as pipe and drape with white tulle and clear lighting to add that SPARKLE!!!  So, once I’m typically done eating with my guest, I’ll walk around and view all the creative minds and ask if I can take pictures (to include my table). Check out these photos from the 2018 Dinner en Blanc held in Washington, DC.
