D A S H. Experience

Have you ever second guessed the life you were designed to live but it’s not going the way you want it to? Honey Chile, can I tell you I was honored to be a speaker at the Transitional Housing Program by District Alliance with Safe Housing (DASH). This program provides safe housing for domestic violence survivors in the Washington, DC area. I shared some Home Decluttering and Organization tips since these women live in very small spaces. The challenge is always how can I store all of what I need and still maximize my living space. It’s easy! You’ve got to get storage containers, keep only the necessities, and don’t hoarder the spaces.

But, what a humbling experience to see so many who were domestically abused . They want nothing short of living a safer lifestyle but in the process they transitioned to DASH which allows them to live rent free for up to 2 years so they can save and provide for their children. So, for example there’s this one mom with seven kids who lived in a 1 bedroom home who was abused by her spouse and had no choice but to escape her circumstances. I can’t image this! Can you? Make sure that you are seeking the assistance you need. If you feel you are a victim of domestic violence, please contact the following:
